Our Mission
ChampionsGuide is a free resource for competitive game players who want clear, beginner-friendly guides. We focus on games with deep competitive scenes and provide walkthroughs, tier lists, and strategies that help new players understand the fundamentals and start winning.
We started ChampionsGuide because most existing competitive gaming resources are written for experienced players. They assume you already know the terminology, the mechanics, and the meta. We take a different approach: we explain everything from the ground up, define every term we use, and provide context for why certain strategies work.
Our Editorial Process
Every guide on ChampionsGuide goes through a structured editorial process:
- Research: We study the game mechanics, test strategies in actual battles, and analyze tournament replays to understand what works and why.
- Writing: Our writers draft guides with a focus on clarity for beginners. We avoid assumptions about prior knowledge and define all technical terms.
- Fact-checking: All stat values, type effectiveness data, and mechanical descriptions are verified against the game's official documentation and in-game testing.
- Review: Guides are reviewed for accuracy, clarity, and completeness before publication.
- Updates: We monitor game updates and patch notes. When mechanics change or the meta shifts, we update affected guides within one week.

Competitive Pokemon player since 2014 with experience in VGC format tournaments. Responsible for all Pokemon Champions content, including tier lists, team building guides, and battle strategy articles. Reviews all content before publication.

Covers Guild Wars Reforged and Last War content. MMO and strategy game specialist with 8 years of experience writing gaming guides for various publications.
James L. — Fact-Checker & Data Analyst

Our Standards
- Accuracy first. If we are not sure about a fact, we label it as unverified or do not publish it.
- No fabricated quotes. We do not invent player testimonials or fake interview quotes. All cited player opinions come from real, publicly available sources.
- Transparency about uncertainty. Competitive metas evolve. When tier lists or strategy recommendations are based on early meta analysis, we note this explicitly.
- No sponsored content. We do not accept payment for positive reviews or featured placements. Our content is independent.
