June 17, 2026 is the global launch of Pokemon Champions on iOS and Android. The same battle system you love on Switch is coming to your phone — with full cross-play, shared progress, and a brand new mobile-exclusive gift waiting in your mailbox.
What You Get on Mobile
- Cross-Platform Play — Battle against Switch players in real time. Your rank, team, and rewards are shared across all platforms.
- Shared Save Data — Your Pokemon Champions account syncs between Switch and mobile. Progress carries over automatically.
- Touch-Optimized UI — Buttons are larger, menus are simplified, and the turn timer is more forgiving on mobile.
- Same Roster — All 263 Pokemon available on Switch are also available on mobile at launch.
- Cross-Progression — Items, currency (VP), and Quick Coupons sync between devices.
How to Download on Launch Day
- iOS: Open the App Store on June 17, search "Pokemon Champions", and tap Get. Requires iOS 16 or later.
- Android: Open Google Play on June 17 and install. Pre-registration on Google Play has been open since May 2026.
- First-Time Setup: Sign in with the same Nintendo Account you use on Switch to sync your save data. New players can create a fresh account.
- Claim Launch Gifts: Open the Mystery Gift (Mystery Gift) menu on June 17 to claim the Raichu gift (active through September 2, 2026) and confirm your Dragonite early-download bonus is in your mailbox.

Mobile UI Tips for Beginners
- Drag to Select — Tap and drag to choose moves, switches, and targets. Faster than tapping through menus.
- Pinch to Zoom — Pinch on the battle field to zoom out and see all four Pokemon at once.
- Turn Timer — Mobile gets an extra 5 seconds per turn to account for touch input. Use it.
- Battery Saver — Toggle in Settings. Reduces animation quality but extends play sessions by ~40%.
- External Controller Support — Bluetooth controllers (Xbox, DualSense, Pro Controller) are supported. Great for tournament play on the go.
Mobile vs Switch — Which Should You Play?
Play Mobile if: You want short ranked sessions, commute play, or a touch interface. Beginners usually find mobile easier to learn on because the UI guides you through each step.
Play Switch if: You want a bigger screen for serious team building, TV-mode for big tournaments, or you already own a Switch 2 (which gets a free visual upgrade).
Best of both worlds: Use the Switch for serious team-building in the builder, and mobile for climbing the ranked ladder. Your progress syncs automatically.
Cross-Play With Switch: How It Works
- Sign in to the same Nintendo Account on both Switch and mobile.
- Open Pokemon Champions on either device — your latest save data downloads automatically.
- Queue for ranked or casual battles. The matchmaker pairs you with players on any platform.
- Voice chat is NOT cross-platform — use the in-game quick-chat system instead.
Troubleshooting Common Mobile Issues
- "Cannot connect to server": Check your internet connection. Pokemon Champions requires a stable connection for ranked play.
- "Save data not syncing": Force-close and reopen the app. If still failing, sign out and back in to your Nintendo Account.
- Game runs slowly: Toggle Battery Saver in Settings, close other apps, and ensure your device is not in low-power mode.
- Missing event Pokemon: Open the Mystery Gift menu. Event Pokemon stay in your mailbox for 30 days before they expire.
